UNITED METHODIST MEN (UMM)
The purpose of the Cherry Point United Methodist Men (CPUMM) is to give every man the opportunity to share in the Evangelism, Mission, and Spiritual Life ministries of the United Methodist Church.United Methodist Men simply means ALL men of the church. It is open to ALL men; there are no forms to fill out or other joining requirements. However, the UMM group of CPUMC is chartered each year as an official United Methodist Men unit.
Methodist Men are involved in many aspects of the church and its mission:

GATHERING:
Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at the church. The meetings start at 7pm, and consist of a devotion prior to the short business portion. The meetings are usually over by about 8pm and it is a great time for the men to enjoy good Christian fellowship.
WORK OPPORTUNITIES to PROVIDE SERVICE:
The major fundraiser of our UMM group continues to be two BBQ chicken lunches that are held in April and October. The money received is passed back through donations to different missions, the Jessie Gurganus Scholarship, maintaining the church lawn equipment and cutting the grass, sharing with the UMW in providing for all paper needs of the church. The men individually pledge a certain amount per year to be used for "mission work" in the area. The men set up and take down the Nativity annually. In addition the men host a monthly lunch right after church and any donations received above the cost of the meal goes back into support for the church. The men also host the monthly "Mission Dinner" once in the fall and again in the spring. All proceeds from this goes to the mission work of the UMC.
We are always looking for new men to join with us. We really do have a lot of fun working and fellowshipping together.
TRY IT! YOU'LL LIKE IT!
